More than 80,000 movie tickets were sold in three days for the much-anticipated Kanjani8 movie, “EIGHT RANGER”.
The advance tickets went on sale last June 8th, and around 300 fans
lined-up outside Wald 9 cinemas in Shinjuku, Tokyo as early as 8:15am.
Long lines have also been reported in cinemas in Shibuya and Ikebukuro.
In Osaka where Kanjani8 originally came from, fans start to line-up as early as 4:00 am in areas of Umeda and Nanba. Most of the fans excitement came from the reported 88,888 special postcards that will be given away for the buyers of the first batch of advance tickets. The special postcards were reportedly gone within the morning.
“EIGHT RANGER” will hit the cinemas on July 28th. The movie is part of Kanjani8’s eight year anniversary line-up.
