Cover Dance Festival |
Riding on the power of the Hallyu wave that’s taken the world by storm, Visit Korea Year’s second annual 2012 K-Pop Cover Dance Festival is once again drawing major attention, as fans from over 34 different countries have already submitted their entries.
Cover dance is learning and performing the choreography of any dance; it is an evolution of watching and appreciating, it is feeling and enjoying the same art as the celebrities themselves.
A number of new cover dance videos are emerging from countries such as Russia, Brazil, Spain, Thailand, France, the US, Indonesia, Japan, Ukraine, The Philippines, and more, and the view counts are also growing with each passing day.
Various Hallyu fans are recorded dancing to their favorite K-Pop songs in the most unexpected locations, and the more creative fans get, the more hits their videos consequently receive. The videos include one of five passionate Russian girls who dance barefoot on their outdoor terrace, along with that of Brazilian teenagers who are expressing their love for both K-Pop dance and soccer on a soccer field, as well as a Thai cover dance team who display their moves at a large mall.
K-Pop fans all over the world can submit their own entries online through Cover Dance Festival’s home page 15 days before finalists are chosen on the contest day in each of their respective countries. The contest will take place in 10 different countries over the course of three months from July through September, and the final contenders will then be formally invited to Korea in mid-September to perform on a special stage where the final winner will be selected.
The final qualifiers who become confirmed to go head to head in the final round will not only receive a visit to Korea, they will get to experience the culture of Korea as well as meet with famous K-Pop Stars! Visit coverdance.org for more information.
