Hello Venus Hurt By Pre-Debut Comments

The Korean music scene has seen more than enough girl groups flop as they try to break into the competitive industry. Expectations remain low for many new groups until they prove themselves to be something worth paying attention to.
During an interview with Sports Chosun, rookie girl group Hello Venus revealed that they were hurt by people's lack of confidence in their abilities.
"When we read the replies, we noticed that there were comments like, ‘Another one? They’ll disappear like the others, too.’ It really hurt us then," they stated.
With the group's debut single "Venus" becoming a big hit, netizens have come to like the group. However, some remain critical, siting that they are too similar to A Pink. Hello Venus responded, "A Pink looks younger and more girlish. We have a different type of cuteness."
The girls also tried to set themselves apart from fellow Pledis Entertainment girl group After School. "Just because we’re sister groups doesn’t mean we’ll have the same concepts. After School’s powerful and sexy while we’re bright and cute. There’s also an added innocence factor," they said.
"Our group’s strength is our stable teamwork. We’ve been dorming together since October and have since been holding family gatherings once every week around candle light. This makes our trust in each other grow stronger than ever," the group concluded.
